Jennie Akse is leading a wild edible and medicinal plant exploration on the Island this weekend -- sign up with the info below and meet at the Cafe for a coffee & brunch before heading out to forage!
Day of Wild Edible and Medicinal Plant Exploration - Toronto
- Sunday, May 17, 2015
- 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- Price: CAD95.00/per person
Get your walking boots on and join us for a day-long exploration in the art of foraging food and herbal remedies from the wild. You'll have a chance to deepen your relationship with wild plants, learning which ones are safe and useful, and why -- by observing, touching, smelling and tasting. The ethics of foraging responsibly and sustainably will be also highlighted.
Bring a lunch, snacks, and a thermos of hot water for making on-the-spot wild teas to sample along the way. You'll also want to bring a pencil and camera to record your observations.
What to Bring
Bring a bag lunch and drinking water; gardening gloves (optional); small paper bags, notebook with pen/pencil and cellophane tape for leaf samples. It's wise to use a backpack so your hands are free.
Dress for the weather - good solid boots or walking shoes.
Once signed up, please be sure you are committed to join us, be it RAIN or SHINE!
